Oil painter Don Stucke is a self-taught artist, who as a young teen from NJ vacationed on Cape Cod. He loved exploring the back roads and hidden treasures so plentiful on the Cape that served to ignite his artistic soul. He has been drawing, doing non-objective abstract silk screen printmaking, hand carving signs and enjoying photography throughout his life. Don owned and operated Hyannis Art Supplies on Main Street, Hyannis for more than 30 years providing Cape Cod artists with their needed resources and framing. He is a past president of the Cape Cod Art Association (Cape Cod Art Center). Several years ago, Don began realistic oil painting depicting some of the quiet, peaceful places on the Cape that he has always loved to visit. Don’s oil paintings capture the essence of those special Cape locations he cherishes. Additionally, Don is the Curator of the Cape Cod Maritime Museum in Hyannis where he designs and installs exhibits that showcase the work of local maritime related artists in the Museums’ Fine Art Gallery.
